Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

If you feel stuck, exhausted, and spiritually sapped, I’m here to support you. I will use clinical methods and a biblical perspective to guide you toward healing. Together we will work to set healthier boundaries and help you form a renewed sense of identity as a beloved child of God. My aim is for you to gain greater clarity regarding past trauma, attachment wounds, miscommunication patterns, and more so you can develop skills and tools to reduce exhaustion and resentment. As you grow in emotional regulation and boundary setting, you will renew your capacity to act as image bearers of Christ to those around you.

About

If you look like you’re holding it all together on the outside but inside feel tired of carrying such a heavy burden alone, I would be honored to help. In addition to other services, I work with clients who have experienced significant trauma, attachment wounds, or difficult relationships. I’m trained in therapies that support healing at the source of your trauma. Through our time together, my hope is for you to gain clarity regarding dynamics that feel confusing or overwhelming. With God’s help and direction, I will help you understand and overcome your trauma cycles, miscommunication patterns, and identity wounds.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My primary aim is to help you strengthen your relationships, including your relationships with yourself, others, and God. God calls us to love Him and to love others as we love ourselves. However, due to trauma or fractured relationships, many struggle to love themselves or others as God intended. Using trauma-informed and relational therapies, my goal is to help you move toward spiritual and emotional renewal with yourself and others, and so you can ultimately grow in your walk with God.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I offer a warm, welcoming space where you can experience both clinical support and spiritual renewal as you grow in your relationship with God. After determining the thoughts, behaviors, or feelings that may be holding you back, I will provide practical steps you can take with you and use throughout the week. The goal is to track what works, adjust what doesn’t, and connect this growth to your daily routines and spiritual life.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, I see my clients as bearers of God’s image. Trauma and sin have marred that image, often leading to disordered thinking and maladaptive behaviors. Jesus calls for a renewing of our mind and heart so we can bear our image of Him to the world. My goal as your counselor is to bring healing and plant the seeds of growth that will make that renewal possible. If you carry spiritual wounds or distorted views of God, I will also help you reconnect with a healthier understanding of the Father’s love.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

I have a BA in Linguistics from Western Washington University and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University. I have also completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gottman Method Level 1, Emotion Focused Family Therapy Level 1, Lifespan Integration Level 3, Telehealth, and Play Therapy.

My Call to Christian Counseling

After being a stay-at-home mom for several years, my husband and I both agreed that our kids were old enough for me to pursue a career. I knew I loved helping and encouraging people. After much prayer about what career would feel the most fulfilling, I realized that becoming a mental health therapist fit that role perfectly.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I love swing dancing, hiking, knitting, crocheting, and weaving.

Counseling for Children

Understanding the mind of a child can seem daunting to adults. Children have big emotions, yet often struggle to put into words what’s bothering them. God created them with a mind built for imagination, exploration, and play. It’s through play that children integrate abstract concepts and make sense of the world around them. I utilize my training in Play Therapy to help children work through what they cannot express with words. If your child appears to be struggling, I’m here to help.

EMDR and Lifespan Integration

Lifespan Integration and EMDR are both gentle therapeutic methods that help remove “stuck” memories to gradually decrease symptoms of emotional distress linked with trauma. These methods can help you become grounded in the present rather than stuck in the past. As the Bible states, “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7). Whether I use EMDR or Lifespan Integration, you can be released from memories that hold you hostage and afraid, empowering you to live and love as God intended.

Marriage Counseling

God knew that man should not be alone. He designed marriage so that the two might become one flesh. But many marriages don’t end up feeling this way. Finances, children, work, household responsibilities, intimacy issues, and other stressors can leave marriage feeling drained and dry. Poor communication can compound the issue. Trust and commitment, the pillars that keep your relationship alive, may have buckled or collapsed.

But there is still hope. In marriage counseling, I will present you with the skills needed to help you heal your attachment wounds, rebuild your friendship, and set life-giving boundaries that will help you grow toward each other rather than farther away. If your goal is to foster a healthier, God-centered relationship, I’m here to help.

Individual Counseling

You’re not alone. You may have many reasons that have led you to pursue therapy. I’m here to support you in your journey. The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 4:9 that: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.” Together, let’s work toward the healing, insight, and encouragement you need to continue life’s journey. God has a purpose for bringing you to counseling. I’m here to support you in that purpose.
