Trauma is a word I hear a lot in my professional and personal life. I hear it being used to explain horrific experiences, being used as a buzzword, or being an explainer for ER staff. To find the underlying cause of the term I am using information gathered and collected by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to help clarify the word and the story within it.
