I see it as an incredible honor to join you in your journey, an honor that I will not take for granted. While I will offer my professional knowledge, skills, and training to guide your treatment, I also believe that you are a wellspring of knowledge and have life experiences, personal preferences, and unique strengths that hold the key to any therapeutic course’s success. I am excited to meet with you, to get to know you, and to collaborate with you to address your psychological needs and help you live fully into God’s calling for your life.
I offer Christian counseling for children (ages 9 and above), teens, adult individuals, couples, and families. My faith is integrated in my work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Since God is a relational being, much of my focus involves engaging in relational discussion, including how you relate to yourself, God, and others in your life. In our sessions, we will explore patterns in your life that may be helping or hindering your growth, including emotional, behavioral, spiritual, and relational habits and behaviors. My hope is that through our time together, you will develop tools to engage with the challenges of your life with courage and hope.
Life on this earth is hard. At times it can seem unbearable. As Jesus said, “In this life you will have trouble. But take heart, for I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Whether it is depression, anxiety, addictions, past traumas, loss, relationship difficulties, or personality patterns, we often need help finding that “overcoming” part that Jesus promised. I spent nearly 40 years growing in my ability to help people as a teacher, coach, home group leader, and youth pastor. Now, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I will come alongside and walk with you in your journey to break old patterns and experience transformation.
I specialize in helping teens and adult individuals and couples find healing and move toward recovery from a variety of mental health issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger issues, and challenges with grief and loss, as well as conflict in relationships. Reaching out for help when you're struggling is one of the bravest things you can do, and the first step in finding true healing. Life is full of surprises which can sometimes seem impossible to overcome. However, with God’s help, proper guidance, and some hard work, the road ahead can look much brighter.
I understand that even considering counseling takes a measure of courage and vulnerability. That is a great place to begin. As your counselor, I will listen intently, seek to understand you and your concerns, and work to build on your strengths to move in a positive direction. I work with teen and adult individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of issues and challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, concerns related to aging, and much more. I would consider it a great privilege to serve as your counselor.
With humility and empathy, I will listen to your concerns and work with you to establish an individual treatment plan catered to your needs and goals. Each person is unique in God’s eyes; therefore, the approach I use in each session will be based on your specific circumstances. Regardless of what you may be facing, hope and healing are possible, with God’s guidance and direction.
I offer a broad range of services, including counseling for children and teens, couples therapy, Lifespan Integration Therapy, treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, and much more. No matter what you may be going through, I would consider myself blessed to walk with you for part of your journey toward healing, holding your story in my heart and before the Lord. My hope is that through our time together, you will gain a deeper understanding of the things you are searching for, and that the Lord will bring about healing and alignment in your spirit and soul to match who He created you to be.
I have a very relaxed and approachable vibe and hope to create a safe and warm environment where you can come as you are and feel truly accepted and seen, both by me and the Lord. The relationship between the counselor and client is pivotal and it’s important to have a therapist you feel like you can trust and open up to. I value laughter and humor and, where appropriate, enjoy incorporating this into our time together. I have also worked with individuals who have special needs and am perceptive, flexible, and accommodating in order to make your time in therapy fit well with your individual needs.
As a Christian counselor with nearly ten years of experience in mental health, I offer a gospel-centered focus to address life’s challenges and successes. I provide professional faith-based therapy for adult individuals and couples facing a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and more. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, trusting in the Lord to lead the process of change, fostering hope, and developing tangible and evidence-based tools to reduce symptoms, manage conflict, and grow in confidence to live healthy and whole lives as image bearers of God.
Life is full of blessings from God, yet sometimes our trials and hardships can overshadow our awareness of those blessings. At times, we need someone to come alongside us and guide us toward a place of renewed rejuvenation and joy in the Lord. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, or other concerns, I would be honored to walk with you as we work to recognize those blessings and develop tools for finding joy again.
As a certified Christian coach, my passion is to help you work through your struggles and discover your purpose. Please note: Coaching is not the same as mental health counseling. I am not a health care provider or licensed counselor, but I am a Board Certified Christian Mental Health Coach (BCCMHC), Professional Recovery Coach (CPRC), and Life Coach (CPC). I have found that purpose and identity go hand in hand. If you are unsure of your purpose, it might be that you are unsure of the gifts, beliefs, and emotions that make up who you are. Your identity is not based on what people do or say to you, but in how you respond to them.
