Qualifications & Experience
I am certified as an LICSWA and MHP with a Masters of Social Work (MSW), a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and a teaching certificate for K-8 education from Eastern Washington University. I have been counseling professionally since 2012.
I began as a psycho social rehabilitation specialist prior to graduate school at Eastern Washington University. During graduate school I interned as a crisis responder for the first year and as a school social worker the second year. After graduate school I was a youth co-occurring mental health therapist and a family counselor. Prior to Spokane Christian Counseling, I was a youth mental health counselor and a social worker in a hospital setting.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I knew early on as a teacher that I wanted to make more of an impact with the social, emotional, and mental well-being of children and adolescents, as well as assist parents with behavior remediation education, skills, and support. As a licensed mental health counselor, I am blessed with regular opportunities to use my training to positively impact families and individuals.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I am the mother of four children – three boys and one girl ranging in age from 20 to 11. While raising four children in today’s complex world of shifting morals, social media, relationships, etc., I can relate with parents today and offer insight into human theories and child development when mental health and emotional and behavioral challenges arise.
